St. Leonard’s Community Services provides programs and services in Addictions and Mental Health, Housing, Justice and Employment that enable community members to overcome challenges through choices that result in positive change.

Our accredited centre of excellence for children, youth, adults, and families is currently seeking an enthusiastic and responsible individual for the following position: 


 St. Leonard’s Community Services – Employment Services operates three sites in Brant and Haldimand Counties with funding through Employment Ontario, Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.  These sites offer a variety of programs that provide support and information for job seekers of all ages, employers, students and individuals considering retraining.   A full menu of information sessions provides group coaching in a variety of employment related topics.

Programs include:  Resource and Information, Assisted Job Search, Job Matching and Placement Incentives, Second Career, Canada-Ontario Job Grant, Employing Young Talent Incentive, Youth Job Connection, Youth Job Connection Summer, Youth Job Link.

DUTIES:  The Employment Services Director will evaluate short and long-term program needs; oversee the development and implementation of solutions; prepare and submit quarterly statistical reports; monitoring questionnaires, business plans and departmental work plans; prepare and monitor operating plans including financial disbursements; coordinate marketing efforts and submit proposals for new programming and funding initiatives.  This position will also participate on the Management Team; prepare reports for the Board of Directors; collaborate with community agencies and government representatives/funders; and fulfill reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a University Degree in a related field and possess a minimum of five years’ experience in a senior management role.    Must demonstrate expertise in the delivery of full suite employment services and have experience in program evaluation.  The ability to apply knowledge of relevant legislation and labour market information to client service and organizational practices is required.  Candidates must possess superior leadership, planning and organizational skills and have experience developing and implementing work plans and budgets.  Candidates must have superior interpersonal and communication skills including problem-solving, crisis management, relationship-building and collaboration, and be able to motivate staff.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and working with databases. Must have reliable transportation as some travel will be required.

HOURS OF WORK:    Must be extremely flexible.

START DATE: March 2019

STARTING ANNUAL SALARY:  ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­$72,716 plus car allowance and comprehensive benefits pkg.
