The Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) is Canada’s largest registered charity committed to sight-saving research
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Research and Education, the Officer of Educational Events and Partnerships is responsible for all aspects of event planning related to Vision Quest, the FFB’s premier educational series, and all other research and education-related events. Held at multiple sites across Canada each year, Vision Quest provides information, resources, networks, and other forms of support to those affected by blindness and vision loss. The Officer is also the frontline contact for research and education-related communications, and as such plays a key role in phone and email interactions with patients and supporters, as well as the management of information resulting from those interactions. Finally, the Officer of Educational Events and Partnerships plays a central role in supporting the development of partnerships and sponsorships by working closely with the Director of Research and Education to identify and cultivate relationships.
- At least two years of experience in a field or position focussed on event planning
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft’s Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
- Experience with Raisers Edge is an asset
- Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma and a combination of experience in relevant field.
